PRAYER

Breakthrough often begins with talking with God in prayer and learning how to rely on Him daily. Over these 21 days, set aside intentional time to ask, seek, and knock, trusting that God responds when His people draw near.

“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7 NLT

Choose a consistent time each day to pray. Slow down. Listen for God’s voice. Write down what He reveals. Expect Him to move.

Fasting helps us empty our lives of distraction so we can be filled with God’s presence. You can fast from food or choose another focus: social media, entertainment, sugar, noise, or anything that competes for your attention.

Ask God what He’s calling you to set aside during this season.

If you’re new to fasting or exploring it again, “Your Personal Guide to Prayer and Fasting” by Bill Bright is a great place to start.

Please consult a physician if you plan to incorporate food fasting.

Fasting

A selective fast removes certain elements from your diet. A common example is the Daniel Fast, which involves avoiding meat, sweets, and bread and focusing on fruits, vegetables, water, and natural juices. If you’re new to fasting, consider limiting a food-related fast to 3–7 days while you learn how your body responds.

Types of Fasting

Selective Fast

Sometimes called the “Jewish Fast,” this involves skipping meals during specific hours of the day. Many choose to fast from morning until mid-afternoon, such as 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, or follow a sunup-to-sundown rhythm.

Partial Fast

A soul fast is helpful if fasting from food isn’t possible or if you want to reset unhealthy patterns. This fast focuses on stepping away from distractions: social media, streaming, or anything that pulls your attention in unhelpful ways. The goal is to quiet the noise and return to those areas with healthier rhythms.

Complete Fast

A complete fast includes liquids only—typically water, with light juices if needed. This type of fast should be practiced for short periods and approached thoughtfully.
