Start a Relationship with Jesus
Jesus didn’t invite us into a religion. He invited us into a relationship, as well as rest and renewal through him. Spiritual peace begins with Jesus.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 NASB 1995
A relationship with Jesus starts with three simple movements of the heart within every believer:
1. Admit That We Have Sinned
Each of us is born into sin, and sin separates us from God. Every single one of us has fallen short, and that’s why we need a Savior.
Romans 5:12 NLT says, “12 When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.”
Romans 3:23 NLT says, “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
2. Believe Jesus Has Rescued Us
God never wanted distance between us. From the very beginning of Creation, He planned a way back for us through Jesus, who came to rescue, redeem, and restore us.
John 3:16 NLT says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
“But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8 NLT
3. Commit to Let Jesus Be Your Boss
Salvation means trusting Him more than ourselves. It’s about letting His love reshape our choices, our purpose, and our future. Salvation is not something we earn through works, but something that we receive because of His grace.
In Romans 10:9 NLT, Paul states, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
“For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ – Romans 10:13 NLT
If you’re ready, start right where you are and pray this prayer:
"God, I admit that I have sinned. I believe that you rescued me. From this day forward, I commit my life to you. Be the Boss in my life. Amen."
